You are cordially invited to the first Professional Development Day offered by CLASY (Canadian Libraries Are Serving Youth). The event will take place May 28th from 10:30-4:30 at the University of Western Ontario. Anyone with an interest in youth services in libraries is welcome to attend. We will discuss emerging issues in library services for teens and all participants will be invited to share ideas about the kind of work a Canadian network of library staff, students and educators interested in working with and serving young adults could and should accomplish. The day will be a combination of speaker presentations as well as “think tank” and agenda setting activities. More details about the speakers and activities will be provided closer to the event.
CLASY is newly established and hopes to develop a vibrant and active, national network of library professionals serving young adults. It aims to assist library staff working with teens by offering program ideas, pathfinders, bibliographies and professional development.
